Common questions
Questions we hear most
What should I bring to my tax appointment?
Photo identification, Social Security or ITIN numbers for everyone on the return, all income documents (W-2s, 1099s, business records), and last year's return if we did not prepare it. If you are unsure about a document, bring it — it is easier to set aside than to go back for.
Do you serve clients in Spanish?
Yes. Every service is available in Spanish and English, from the first phone call through the signed return.
Can you help me if I live outside Illinois?
Yes. We prepare returns for Illinois and surrounding states, and we work with clients remotely by phone, email, and secure document exchange. Call the office to set that up.
How long does an ITIN application take?
Processing time is set by the IRS and varies through the year, and it is typically longest during filing season. We review your documents before anything is mailed so the application is not delayed or rejected over a paperwork error.
I received a letter from the IRS — can you help?
Yes. Bring or send us the letter and we will read it, explain what it is asking for, and tell you what to do next. Do not ignore it; most letters have a response deadline.
Do I need an appointment?
Calling ahead is best, especially during filing season and for notary work, so we can be sure the right person is available when you arrive.
Ready to hand off the paperwork?
